Senator Dianne Feinstein -- Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely
Many American men are puzzled by the amount of time women will spend trying to find a parking spot that is just a few car lengths closer to the
entrance to the mall entrance or any other building. What they do not understand is that when you weigh 98 lbs. and walk in heels, you are a
mobile feast for a potential rapist or killer. Consequently every car length closer to the mall entrance or the building entrance gives you an added level of security.
Rather than playing Parking Lot Roulette, other women choose to carry a concealed weapon in their purse as opposed to finding a parking spot that
is just a little closer. When assailed by a criminal, a .38 caliber pistol is to a woman a tremendous amount of security.
It was a similar need for security, which drove Senator Dianne Feinstein to pack a .38 caliber pistol in her purse. Even though the Senator holds a
permit to carry a concealed weapon, and is well skilled in the use of that weapon, she has helped to make it virtually impossible for other women in California to enjoy the same level of personal security.
Senator Dianne Feinstein, April 27, 1995 U.S. Senate Hearings on Terrorism Washington, D.C.
"Because less than twenty years ago I was the target of a
terrorist group. It was the New World Liberation Front. They blew up power stations and put a bomb at my home when my husband was dying of cancer. And the bomb didn't detonate. ... I was very lucky. But, I
thought of what might have happened. Later the same group shot out all the windows of my home."
"And, I know the sense of helplessness that people
feel. I know the urge to arm yourself because that's what I did. I was trained in firearms. I'd walk to the hospital when my husband was sick. I carried a concealed weapon. I made the determination that if
somebody was going to try to take me out, I was going to take them with me."
While the Senator continues to enjoy the constitutional right to own a weapon, she never misses an opportunity to criticize and attack those who speak in favor of that right.

Senator Dianne Feinstein Addressing the U.S. Senate
Judiciary Committee Before Voting "No" to the Nomination of John Ashcroft On gun control, the new John Ashcroft says he supports
background checks at gun shows, says that he voted to deny the right to bear arms to domestic violence offenders, and says he would support re-authorizing the assault weapons ban when it expires in 2004, although
he has called it "wrong-headed." The old John Ashcroft, on the other hand, voted against mandatory background checks at gun shows, trigger locks
on guns sold, and a ban on large capacity ammunition magazines. He supported a concealed weapons law that would allow the people of Missouri to carry a concealed firearm into a grocery store, a church, or on school
grounds or on a school bus, superceding the Federal Gun Free Schools Act. He was, and still may be, an active member of the National Rifle Association.
Not only does Senator Feinstein object to women in her own state being able to defend themselves from rapists and murderers, she is infuriated by
the idea that John Ashcroft would be so callous as to support a concealed weapons law in his own state of Missouri. Yet, Senator Feinstein continues to hold her license to carry a concealed weapon.
There are two messages in this hypocrisy.
The first message is very obvious. The good
Senator can walk with confidence because she's
packing a pistol, but all the other women in her
state had better start learning to find parking
spots closer to mall and building entrances.
The second message is not so obvious, and is the one for which we be should be most concerned. It is the message that says there are two versions of the Constitution; one version for people of power such as the
Senator, and another less robust version for lower caste members of our society which we in general terms described as being "taxpayers."
Norman Schwarzkopf -- Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil
Since retiring from the United States Army, the general has made a profitable living exhorting his Gulf War deeds and those of the men and women under his command.

Schwarzkopf discusses Gulf War illnesses
WASHINGTON -- The question of whether Gulf War veterans were
exposed to chemical weapons was addressed by retired Army Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf on Jan. 29 before the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs. While senators said they eagerly awaited the Desert Storm
commander's view on what has been dubbed the "Gulf War Syndrome," Schwarzkopf offered nothing new to clear up the mystery.
In fact, he told the committee that it was not until last year that he learned about the release of nerve gas and possible exposure to U.S. troops. "I never
heard anything about it myself, until 1996 when it was announced by the Defense Department. Nobody was more surprised that I was," Schwarzkopf said.
According to the final report of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Gulf War Veteran's Illnesses, the jury is still out on possible medical effect of chemical and biological warfare agents released during
the Gulf War. As of January, more than 38,000 veterans and their family members have registered for the Gulf War Syndrome medical program.
While he now enjoys a steady stream of rubber chicken and generous speakers' fees, he has turned a blind eye now to the parade of walking wounded who bear the suffering of the war, which brought him so much
fame.

Against All Enemies: Gulf War Syndrome: The War Between
America's Ailing Veterans and Their Government
Were American soldiers serving in the Persian Gulf conflict exposed to chemicals that caused them to come
down with "Gulf War syndrome"? Or are they experiencing symptoms of extreme psychological stress? Why have the so-called heroes of the Persian Gulf,
retired generals Norman Schwarzkopf and Colin Powell, seemingly distanced themselves from the plight of troops under their former command?
Why did it take so long for Congress to even acknowledge that there might be a problem? Against All Enemies is a brief but disturbing exposé of institutional neglect from one of the media's most
tenacious government watchdogs. Gassed In The Gulf, Former CIA analyst Patrick G. Eddington
The Inside Story of the Pentagon-CIA Cover-up of Gulf
War Syndrome Desert Storm was touted by Generals H. Norman Schwarzkopf and Colin L. Powell as a triumph of American arms and ingenuity...A clean win, in Powell's
words. Six years later, the true costs of war have come home: Over 100,000 Gulf War veterans have lost their health, their futures, and in some cases their lives - all from an illness known as Gulf War Syndrome.
Former CIA analyst Patrick G. Eddington exposes the officially sanctioned deceptions that have made these men and women the walking wounded of Desert Storm.
Colin Powell misleads Congress about defects and shortages in American chemical defense equipment only weeks before our soldiers and Marines face Saddam
Hussein's arsenal of terror. Norman Schwarzkopf conceals chemical agent exposures among American troops during and after Desert Storm.
Many veterans returned from the Vietnam conflict only to find a painful existence with the results of Agent Orange. Many Americans felt that our
government's indifference to their plight was because these warriors lost their war.
However, what the Gulf War proved to Laos is that Americans could still win a war and be treated no differently. General Schwarzkopf may have made
television history with his "hail Mary pass" and stunning victory, but in the final analysis he has become nothing more than a TV hero for those brave
men and women who now suffer Gulf War syndrome, and their families.
General Schwarzkopf will understand the pain and suffering of those who served under their command, but will be forced to contrast that suffering with
their own financial situation. Keep in mind that General Schwarzkopf enjoys a very respectable life style thanks to his pension, book royalties and
speakers' fees. Why risk all that by leading a march on Washington in support of those who suffer Gulf War Syndrome?
If Ellison's Constitutional Ponzi scheme for a new national ID program is put into effect, there will be a whole new class of walking wounded in America.
These new walking wounded may not suffer in their lungs and in their nerves, but in their ability to live free as the TV heroes turn a blind eye to their fate.
