A proponent of a “slow it, spread it, sink it” approach to water harvesting, Brad has authored an immensely popular 2-part series:  Rainwater Harvesting for Drylands (Vol. 1) and Rainwater Harvesting for Drylands and Beyond (Vol. 2). This series is based on 8 guiding principles of water harvesting and management in severe drought conditions. 

A resident of Arizona, Brad has carefully studied the architecture introduced in the first installment in this series:  Advanced Community Planning Series #1: Highly, Survivable, Low-Tech 2012 Arcosanti Structures — Arcologist Erin Jeffries.  While Arcosanti is ideally situated as an architectural prototype site, it lacks the kinds of drought water management strategies post-2012 survival communities will require.
