According to a recent Web Bot Project report, 2009 will be remembered as the “year of lack.”  A year when we begin to lack for many of the things we once took for granted.  What this means is that coping with ever more painful economic contractions is the new reality!  And we'll be doing it for a long, long time.

Yes, things are getting ugly America and stunning numbers of us are losing jobs, homes and hope.  Part of the problem is that we’re not terribly enthralled with Congress’s fondness for wink-wink socialism for the rich and greedy.  You know how it goes.  The masters of the universe get the blank checks, and we get the blank looks and promises. 

So aside from bankruptcy courts and blank-rupted politicians, whom do we turn to for strength, comfort and above all, survival ideas?   God, and this is no joke.  Nor are we talking about mumbling for miracles.  According to Susan Shumsky, DD, author of How to Hear the Voice of God, the single greatest reason we fail in this regard is that we tend to overcomplicate the process.

Taken altogether, it is a bizarre twist on the Biblical story of Noah and the Flood — and with strikingly similar themes. 

For those new to the topic of 2012, the film is great entertainment, but it also drives home an ancient failing of humanity.  That the common folk are often the last to know, whether by their own choices or those made for them by wealthy and powerful elites.   Ergo, many will never ask, "where will I be in 2012?"  They'll just have enough time to ask, "My God, what's happening?"
