Mother Shipton to Nostradamus

One correlation that is very obvious to see is between the mentioning of seven days and seven nights by Mother Shipton and the star that burns for seven days by Nostradamus in his verse C2Q41.

"For seven days and seven nights
Man will watch this awesome sight.
The tides will rise beyond their ken
To bite away the shores and then…" 

This tells that something impressive will be visible, even though it does not say where.  We are not even sure this is connected to the passage just before that:

"A fiery dragon will cross the sky
Six times before this earth shall die
Mankind will tremble and frightened be
for the sixth heralds in this prophecy."

If these two passages are connected, then something impressive will be visible in the sky for a week, but Century 2, Quatrain 41 holds another interesting clue:

"The great star will burn for seven days,
The cloud will cause two suns to appear: 
The big mastiff will howl all night
When the great pontiff will change country."

The great pontiff changing country, a pope, the great pope, will change country when this takes place.

St. Malachy to Nostradamus

There is known prophecy on the Roman Catholic Church, or more precisely, on its earthly leader, the Pope.  It is called St. Malachy's Prophecy of the Popes and it covers the sequence of Popes over the years after the year he spoke out this prophecy.  It has been studied widely and some consensus seems to exist as to which Pope on his list is which real Pope, as he used Latin names to describe their characteristics.  Towards the end of his list we find the current Pope, John Paul II.

So according to St. Malachy, there will only be two more Popes in Rome, then no more. It also says that Rome, which is the city of seven hills mentioned here, will be destroyed, but it doesn't say how or by what.

John Paul II is 83 years old and may not be Pope much longer, either by stepping down because of ill health (he suffers from Parkinson's Disease), or by ‘dying in the harness' as is customary for Popes to do.  According to this prophecy from around 1130, there will only be two more popes elected, and then there will be ‘the end'.  The end of what does not become clear.  It may be the Church, or it may be the world.

What is interesting to note, when looking back at the article Nibiru Flyby More Likely in 2012, is that if John Paul II were to pass this year or the next, then there would remain 8 or 9 years until 2012.  He recently indicated in an interview that he feels his time to meet his Judge may be soon.

The average time a Pope was in office over the last two centuries has been 14.5 years.  The average time a Pope was in office since the prophecy is just under 8 years.  "Pope number 111" could take office, remain there for 7 years and be followed by the last one called Peter the Roman.

A good current candidate, tipped by insiders, is Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, who is currently running day-to-day affairs as the right hand to John Paul II. Giovanni Battista Re was born on January 30, 1934 in Borno (Brescia).

The province of Brescia is situated in Lombardy and borders on Lake Garda. On the shores of that lake, grow some of the finest olives, contributing to the extra virgin olive oil, an especially tasty olive oil recognized as such throughout Europe.  He, if elected to be the next Pope, would indeed be ‘Gloria Olivae' or a ‘Pride of the olive'.

 If he were to be the Roman Catholic Church leader for seven to eight years before passing on, his successor could then be ‘Peter the Great', who would be the last Pope of Rome. Could this be the "great pontiff changing country" that Nostradamus talks about? The reason for a flight out of Rome could be as Malachy stated, the city of 7 hills being destroyed. The year 2012 could well be a possible year for this to come to pass.

Two more Quatrains from the same Century of Nostradamus' verses are Quatrains 2:96 and 2:97:

Flambeau ardant au ciel soir sera veu,

Famine, glaiue: tardue secours pourueu,
La Perse tourne enuahir Macedoine.

Burning torch will be seen in the sky at night
Near the end and beginning of the Rhone:
Famine, steel: the relief provided late,
Persia turns to invade Macedonia.

Romain Pontife garde de t'approcher,
De la cité qui deux fleuues arrouse,
Ton sang viendra aupres de la cracher
Toy & les tiens quand fleurira la rose.

Roman Pontiff beware of approaching
The city that two rivers flow through,
Near there your blood will come to spurt,
You and yours when the rose will flourish

These two verses may be connected to 2:41 in the following respect: In the past, the Papacy left Rome before for some time. The Holy See during those days moved to Avignon, France, a city that lies on the confluence of the rivers Rhone and Durance.  Nine French Popes held their office there. If a Pope were forced to leave Rome, he could try and change his ‘home' to Avignon again.

Avignon, which at the beginning of the fourteenth century was a town of no great importance, underwent a wonderful development during the residence there of nine popes, Clement V to Benedict XIII, inclusively. To the north and south of the rock of the Doms, partly on the site of the Bishop's Palace, which had been enlarged by John XXII, rose the Palace of the Popes, in the form of an imposing fortress made up of towers, linked one to another, and named as follows: De la Campane, de Trouillas, de la Glacière, de Saint-Jean, des Saints-Anges (Benedict XII), de la Gâche, de la Garde-Robe (Clement VI), de Saint-Laurent (Innocent VI). The Palace of the Popes belongs, by its severe architecture, to the Gothic art of the South of France; other noble examples are to be seen in the churches of St. Didier, St. Peter, and St. Arcola, in the Clock Tower, and in the fortifications built between 1349 and 1368 for a distance of some three miles, and flanked by thirty-nine towers, all of which were erected or restored by popes, cardinals, and great dignitaries of the court.  On the other hand, the execution of the frescoes which are on the interiors of the papal palace and of the churches of Avignon was entrusted almost exclusively to artists from Sienna.

Another interesting aspect of C2:Q96 is the "Burning torch will be seen in the sky at night". Something will light the skies like a burning torch at night. Such a thing would have to rival the full moon in brightness, or even surpass it, to light the ground at night like a handheld torch would. This could refer to a celestial close-up meeting.

Christian Prophecy to Nostradamus

In The Holy Bible, King James Version, we can find prophecy referring to a possible cataclysm and its consequences.  The most significant book in this is the book of Revelation, especially chapter 8.

Chapter 8, starting from verse 8, states:

8: And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;

9: And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

10: And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

11: And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

12: And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

13: And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabitants of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

A great mountain burning with fire will be cast into the sea causing a third of the sea turning to ‘blood'. If a chunk of space debris falls into an ocean, it will kill a lot of marine life, but turning a third of the sea to blood may be meaning something different altogether.  If an asteroid is to strike Earth, composed of iron mainly, and it disintegrates during impact, a lot of iron dust would be spread across the globe during this disintegration.  But a little ahead in the text we can find another hint:

12: And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

If Earth were to pass directly through a comet's tail, this would mean that a lot of dust would be surrounding her. A dust cloud around Earth would obscure the Sun, the Moon and the stars at least partly. And on top of that, if we were to fly close enough to the nucleus of the comet or comet-like body and directly through its tail, we might even suffer impacts of bigger pieces of its nucleus blown off by force of the Solar wind.

What does Nostradamus say about a scenario like this?  A few verses seem to relate to a significant celestial visitor having a physical effect on Earth.

Century 2 Quatrain 43

Durant l'estoille cheuelue apparente,
Les trois grands princes seront faits ennemis:
Frappez du ciel paix terre tremulente,
Pau, Timbre vndans, serpent sur le bort mis.

During the appearance of the bearded star.
The three great princes will be made enemies:
Struck from the sky, peace earth quaking,
Po, Tiber overflowing, serpent placed upon the shore.

Century 6 Quatrain 6

Apparoistra vers le Septentrion
Non loing de Cancer l'estoille cheuelue:
Suze, Sienne, Boëce, Eretrion,
Mourra de Rome grand, la nuict disperue.

There will appear towards the North
Not far from Cancer the bearded star:
Susa, Siena, Boeotia, Eretria,
The great one of Rome will die, the night over.

Especially the second verse mentioned here, C6 Q6, holds another interesting clue, when we look back at the St. Malachy prophecy above.  A great one of Rome dies.  This will take place at the time ‘the' bearded star (l'estoille), not just ‘a' bearded star.  This may be the change from the ‘Glory of the Olive' or ‘Gloria Olivae' to ‘Peter the Roman', the Pope who will have to flee Rome.  If during the appearance of ‘the' bearded star (l'estoille) in C2 Q43 Italy will be destroyed by an impact followed by great quakes making the Po and Tiber overflow or seek different beds altogether (serpent placed upon the shore), Rome may no longer be possible as the papal seat, due to quake damage possibly.
