However, the group promoting them is the same group that promoted the garbage about Comet Lee (see below)...nothing happened with Comet Lee and nothing happened (or will happen) with 76P/West -Kohoutek-Ikemura. How many times do they have to fool you before you start to doubt their credibility? csm 6/19/00 Mars Climate Orbiter crashed due to calculation error, feet had been used instead of meters, was the explanation we were spoon-fed. That is a possibility of course, but not a very credible one if you consider the team of PhD people planning and carrying out such missions. Such a blatant foul-up should and would have been picked out during planning review. RELEASE 99-113, Sept. 30, 1999 A failure to recognize and correct an error in a transfer of information between the Mars Climate Orbiter spacecraft team in Colorado and the mission navigation team in California led to the loss of the spacecraft last week, preliminary findings by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory internal peer review indicate. Mars Climate Orbiter was one of a series of missions in a long-term program of Mars exploration managed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for NASA's Office of Space Science, Washington, DC. JPL's industrial partner is Lockheed Martin Astronautics, Denver, CO. JPL is a division of the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA. Mars Polar Lander was also lost on Mars upon attempting a landing on the surface of the planet. Two satellites in just over a year were lost upon landing on Mars. What are the odds against that? NASA, March 26, 2001 NASA and the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) today said researchers from the two agencies will continue a joint review of the initial results of NIMA's search for the missing Mars Polar Lander. This analysis is extremely challenging, and has thus far produced no definitive conclusions. There were photos by the SOHO satellite, registering some kind of interaction between the planet Mars and the comet 76P. Not a single explanation at all for that interaction was given at any moment by space flight authorities. And any guess or guesstimate was dismissed with a personal attack on credibility. And to top it all off, as seen above in the Space.com interview, the Russians, like the Americans and the Chinese, are all but jumping up and down to get a manned mission to Mars in the next decade. It is almost looking like a rat race for Mars started suddenly. We can only guess the reasons. Looking at History for AnswersOur best shot at figuring out what may be lying in our near future may come from the past. An old saying goes: "He who doesn't learn from the past, is bound to repeat it". We therefore take a closer look at the past for clues towards an answer to this puzzle. There is one central question to be answered in this search: Did it all happen before? Did a similar event affect the entire planet Earth before during human civilization and if so, what was the result? We then need to know what exactly took place and how long it took us to recover from it and how we achieved recovery.
University of Auburn, April 7, 2000 The story of Atlantis begins in the mind of a famous ancient philosopher, Plato. Plato compiled the first written and perhaps the most detailed account of Atlantis. His two books, which include passages concerning Atlantis, are the Timeaus and the Critias. These books contain dialogues between the philosophers of Plato's time, and include references, spoken only by Plato, to Atlantis. In Timeaus, Plato relates to us the philosophical conversation, which took place between Socrates, Hermocrates, Critias and Timeaus on the day of the "festival of the goddess." The next important passage in Plato's works regarding Atlantis is Critias. In this text, Critias describes in detail the creation of Atlantis--its rules, its life and its culture. According to Plato, the great disaster took place around 11,600 years ago today or around 9,600 BC. A famous historian of today, Zecharia Sitchin, focusing on the ancient Middle East, in his work talks of a periodic celestial visitor to our neighborhood, with a period of approximately 3700 years. Three times 3700 equals 11,100 years, so with an inaccuracy of a few hundred years for the orbit period (Sitchin also talks of this inaccuracy in one of his answers to YOWUSA) the sudden destruction of Atlantis may well have been part of a rough 3600-3800 year cycle of events. If that is the case, another period of it may be up any time. Sitchin in the interview with YOWUSA emphasized once more, like in his books, that visits to Earth to help us out and passages of Nibiru don't necessarily coincide. The beginning of certain evolutionary steps and the ravaging of life as we knew it don't follow the same calendar at all. For example, the year 3,760 BC coincides with the beginning of the Jewish Calendar and according to you the time of the state visit to Earth by Anu (a leader of the Anunnaki or Nibiru) in Nippur, Sumer's "cult center." Assuming a relatively stable orbit for Nibiru, that would place a similar event in 3,440 AD. According to NOSTRADAMUS scholar John Hogue, the quatrains of Nostradamus predict that the Earth will be destroyed by the expanding Sun in the year 3,797 AD. Mayan calendars are interpreted to indicate an "ending" at 2012 AD, and so on. How do such predictions jive with the data on the ancient clay tablets?
SITCHIN: That Mankind's progression from Palaeolithic (Old Stone Age) to Mesolithic (Middle Stone Age) to Neolithic (New Stone Age) and then the great Sumerian civilization, had occurred in intervals of about 3,600 years, is a fact. That Anu visited Earth, approved the grant of civilization (=knowledge, science, technology) to Mankind, marked by the start of the calendar in Nippur in 3760 BC (which is still the Hebrew/Jewish calendar), is certain (as far as I am concerned). But as I have tried to explain in my recent Seminars (though not yet in a full length book), the visits to Earth and the nearing (at what is called perihelion) of Nibiru do NOT coincide. This is a point of immense significance, which those who have only read my first book somehow ignore. Also, the assumption that the 3600 years, as a perfect mathematical given, is also at all times the actual orbital period, is untenable: Even the orbit of Halley's comet, about 75 years, varies from 74 to 76 or so. All attempts to pinpoint a precise date for future arrivals of the planet and/or of the Anunnaki are thus difficult questions. I will answer them once I am satisfied that, based on historical and astronomical data, I have come up with the right answer. Another look at history takes us to the Middle Americas of over a millennium ago. The Mayans were very skilled astronomers. They kept a very accurate calendar that consisted of several cycles, the largest cycle there was covers 5125 years and ends exactly on the winter solstice of 2012, December 21st . Some researchers have found out that on that date, the Sun crosses the intersecting point of the Galactic Equator and the ecliptic plane, a full period of precession of Earth's rotation axis has been completed and a new ‘Sacred Tree' is beginning. The end of a World Age is there and a new age begins. If that is true, then the Mayans had very detailed knowledge of astronomy indeed. They could predict this over 1500 years ahead of time. With current-day means and accuracy, this observation is still an awesome feat; with the means and accuracy available then it would have to have been almost impossible unless old records were there to help. |

Ancient records tell of big civilizations lost to flash
floods; there is the Biblical Flood of Noah or the Deluge that destroyed Atlantis, the most famous legend of them all. Many people will dispute or dismiss the very existence of something called
Atlantis, but then there is the documented record of Plato recounting the history of a long-gone empire called Atlantis, against which his own land, Greece, had been fighting a long war. The
Greeks had even been winning at the time of the "great catastrophe" that brought almost total and even more importantly, instant destruction to the
world of that time. Plato was obviously intrigued by this version of history and wrote down where this Atlantis had been and when it had been destroyed in his
Timeaus and Critias. Was it a figment of his imagination, or is a real historic fact at root of this account?
Nibiru or the visitation of the
Anunnaki, mankind experienced significant technological and/or sociological advances. 
Among their other accomplishments, the ancient Mayas invented a calendar of
remarkable accuracy and complexity. At right is the ancient Mayan Pyramid Chichen Itza, Yucatan, Mexico. The Pyramid of Kukulkan at Chichén Itzá, constructed circa 1050 was built during
the late Mayan period, when Toltecs from Tula became politically powerful. The pyramid was used as a calendar: four stairways, each with 91 steps and a platform at the top, making a total of 365, equivalent
to the number of days in a calendar year.
