The Unexpected is Happening Again
And there is on-going human action in the Solar system. NASA's Contour mission, out to investigate two cometary nuclei over the next few years,
seems to have gone lost during engine firing to break away from Earth orbit.

NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe today announced that
Chief Engineer Theron M. Bradley Jr. will lead a team to investigate the apparent loss of the CONTOUR mission space probe. The investigation team will independently examine all aspects of the CONTOUR
mission, which has been out of contact with controllers at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), Laurel, Md., since a scheduled engine firing Aug. 15.
On Aug. 15, CONTOUR's STAR 30 solid-propellant rocket motor was programmed to ignite at 4:49 a.m. EDT, giving CONTOUR enough boost to escape Earth's orbit. At that time, CONTOUR was about 140 miles above the
Indian Ocean and out of radio contact with controllers. The CONTOUR mission operations team at APL expected to regain contact at approximately 5:35 a.m. EDT to confirm the burn, but NASA's Deep Space
Network (DSN) antennas did not acquire a signal.
Images from a Spacewatch ground-based telescope at Kitt Peak, Ariz., show three objects at the location where CONTOUR was predicted to be, images which may
indicate the spacecraft has broken apart. Mission controllers at APL will continue listening for signals from the spacecraft periodically until early December, when CONTOUR will come into a more favorable angle for
receiving a signal from Earth.
That would be a major setback, losing a probe that was to take a closer look at what comet nuclei are made of (unless of course someone already
knows what they are made of and where they are).
What could have caused a break up of the spacecraft? Freak solar weather shorting out critical circuitry could be one explanation. The same
solar weather influence after all was responsible for the breakup of so many comets over the last three years. A construction error is another explanation, even though one would say that NASA double-checks
whatever they send up. They have more than enough successful experience to prevent glitches that would cause this. Let's wait and see what this investigation yields, but we should not expect any more openness
than we already see from NASA.
The List Doesn't End Here
The events depicted above, some of them on-going, add insult to injury if they are connected. If a single thing is responsible for it and we cannot see
it yet, then it must be pretty darn massive. And it's coming in.
Authorities seem to know, seem to have known so for years already, given specific actions or lack of them. Emergency preparations are being made
all around, in almost synchronized way, yet no word on why. Terrorism-readiness is a ready-at-hand reason, whether it is true or false. Many people have their questions when looking at the timing of the
invasion in Afghanistan and the actions currently prepared against Iraq. What pressing argument is there that was not there ten years ago to grasp
a more firm control over the Middle East? Why risk going against all of the Arab world alone? Why move to force a breakthrough between Israel and
the Palestinians now? They've been at it for half a century. What is causing the apparent hurry to get things done?
Connecting all of this with an impending visitor from "out there" does add some very logical sense to what is now a loose collection of illogical steps
and actions being taken world-wide. Of course, we want to have a firm grip on things before total mayhem breaks out, but again, this is only speculation, be it not random speculation.
No Judgment Yet
The evidence has been broadened again. It is still too early to call it conclusive, but the evidence is certainly amounting to a substantial list now.
The case has moved from weak a year ago, through speculative and possible but doubtful towards more solid now.
Something must be going on in the Solar System. And that something is pretty influential for causing the Sun to act up the way she does and
causing moons and even planets to misbehave. And the interesting part is that the planets have started misbehaving from the outside in! That makes
it quite unlikely that the Sun herself is at cause of all this. But if it isn't the Sun, then what is it? We cannot say for certain, only speculate ever more
openly. We each do have our ideas, but do draw a conclusion for yourselves. We've been frolicking in the bow wave with the dolphins for far
too long now. It's time to start seeing the bow wave for what it really is. If not, it will wash us away!
